hours24 SmartTrack
Time tracking nobody has to do by hand.
SmartTrack automatically detects where each employee is right now. The employee does nothing - no clock-in, no button, no app. People simply work, the system records.
What is SmartTrack?
SmartTrack has two parts: gateways installed across your areas, and a chip each employee carries - as a card or a keyfob-sized device.
Work time runs while the employee's chip is INSIDE a covered area. It is not a gate you pass through - it is continuous presence. So you cover every area where you want to track time. The employee never registers anywhere or takes out a phone - it all happens in the background.
You decide how precise the detection is: a whole building, a single room, or even one desk or industrial machine. Group several gateways to cover a large area; a single one is enough for a small, precise zone.
All detection is automatic. The employee simply works in their area, and the system knows when they are there and when they are not.
Cover the areas - see in real time where everyone is
Every covered area is visible in hours24 in real time - who is on site and in which zone. Work time runs while the chip is inside a covered area, so cover every area where you want to track time. The plan below is an example production facility with colour-covered areas.
How it works
Cover areas with gateways
Install gateways across every area where you want to track time - the production line, the warehouse, the office, next to a single machine. Several gateways together = a large area, one = a small precise zone.
Give employees a chip
Each employee gets a card or keyfob-sized chip. No daily charging or setup - the chip simply sits in a pocket or on a lanyard.
The system records itself
The employee works in their area, the gateway detects their presence, and hours24 records the start, location and end of work automatically. Data flows straight into time tracking and payroll.
You set the rules
Rules that fit how you work
Because detection is continuous presence, you decide what 'out of the area' means. Set the rules once and the system applies them automatically to every employee.
When work goes on break
Set how long an employee may be outside any covered area before work automatically pauses. A short restroom break does not interrupt work, but 20 minutes away = a break.
When the workday ends
If an employee is not seen in any area for a set time, the system ends the workday automatically - nobody has to 'clock out' and the day is never left open by mistake.
Area-specific rules
Each area can have its own rules. For example, work time does not run in the break room but does on the production floor; some areas count as work, others as a break. You decide.
Why customers love it
The human factor disappears
Nobody forgets
No more 'I forgot to clock in' or 'I marked it wrong'. Detection is automatic - the data is always there and correct. Every customer who switched to SmartTrack mentions this first.
No queue at shift start
When 200 people start a shift at once, no queue forms at a terminal. Everyone is clocked in automatically the moment they enter the area.
Safety and evacuation
In a fire or other emergency, you instantly see who is still in the building and in which area they are. At a muster point, that information can save lives.
Accurate hours and pay
Real presence, not an estimate. Planned versus actual time is comparable, overtime and absences are visible - payroll becomes accurate and indisputable.
From a large building to a single machine
Group several gateways to cover an entire warehouse or production hall. Or make a zone very small - around one desk or industrial machine - and detect exactly when someone is working right there. Same technology, your chosen precision.
Where SmartTrack shines
Frequently asked questions
Does the employee have to do anything?
No. The employee simply carries a card or keyfob-sized chip. There is no clock-in or clock-out - presence is detected automatically while the chip is inside a covered area.
Is SmartTrack like an entry gate?
No. It is not a gate you pass through, it is continuous presence. Work time runs while the chip is inside a covered area, so you cover every area where you want to track time.
How large an area can it cover?
As large as you need - group several gateways to cover an entire warehouse or production hall. Or make an area very small, around one desk or industrial machine, to detect exactly when someone is there.
What happens when an employee takes a break or leaves?
You set the rules. For example: if an employee is outside a covered area for longer than a set time, work pauses; if they are not seen in any area, the system ends the workday automatically.
How does SmartTrack help with safety and evacuation?
In a fire or other emergency, you see in real time who is still in the building and in which area they are. That information is invaluable at a muster point.
